So I filled up my belly instead

I wanted to call my mom today, but I never did
and I thought I'd walk the dogs today, but I never did
The world changed my mind a thousand times
So I filled up my drink instead
Oh I thought I'd call my mom today, but I got drunk instead

So then I wanted to smoke a whole pack today, so that's what I did
and I wanted to play my guitar and be lazy, so that's what I did
A poem turned to song, with flowers and moms
and the dogs were content in bed
Oh I needed a day to let go of rage, so that's what I did
