Content in Bed is a realization that daily depression and addictive behaviors can be damaging, but they also bring out the artist in us sometimes, which is the start to healing.
lyrics
I thought I'd write a poem today, but I never did
I thought I'd plant flowers today, but I never did
The wind changed my mind a thousand times
So I filled up my belly instead
Oh I thought I'd write a poem today, but I never did
I wanted to call my mom today, but I never did
and I thought I'd walk the dogs today, but I never did
The world changed my mind a thousand times
So I filled up my drink instead
Oh I thought I'd call my mom today, but I got drunk instead
So then I wanted to smoke a whole pack today, so that's what I did
and I wanted to play my guitar and be lazy, so that's what I did
A poem turned to song, with flowers and moms
and the dogs were content in bed
Oh I needed a day to let go of rage, so that's what I did
Yeah I needed a day to let go of rage, so that's what I did
